ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
A man and woman were arrested for child abuse last week after a welfare check at their residence allegedly found items associated with narcotics use in the bedroom of her infant child, court documents said.
Responding to an anonymous tip, Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office deputies and investigators from the state Children, Youth and Families Department went to the residence of Melody Abrams and Anthony Garcia for a welfare check on Sept. 10, where they found drug paraphernalia in proximity to their child.
After a search warrant for the premises was issued, more drug paraphernalia was found in the infant's bedroom, including burnt foil, glass pipes, used and unused syringes, smoking straws and lighters, all in reach of the child.
There were also tools, knives, mache
