BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The city of Delano said it is working with the city’s police department to host a community town hall titled “Understanding Rights and Roles” on Wednesday.

The town hall is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Jefferson Center, located at 436 Jefferson Street, according to organizers.

Featured speakers include Delano Police Chief Jerry Nicholson, Councilmember Sal Solorio-Ruiz, Councilmember Bryan Osorio and attorneys.

According to organizers, the town hall will discuss topics such as: • How local law enforcement interacts with the community regardless of immigration status • Resources and support for immigrant families • Open Q&A with community members, Delano PD and local leaders
