BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 24-year-old man serving time for spraying irritants at Kern County sheriff's deputies and a K-9 was involved in a deadly attack on another inmate at California State Prison Solano, according to California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Christian Dumas and Stephen J. Archer attacked Brenten G. Kinzenbaw in a recreation yard at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, prison officials said. Officers used chemical agents to stop the attack.
Kinzenbaw was taken to the prison's triage area, where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m.
Dumas and Archer, 38, have been placed in restricted housing while the investigation continues. A homemade weapon was recovered, officials said.
