PHOENIX — A hiker was found dead at Shaw Butte in Phoenix, authorities said.

Technical rescue teams were sent to Shaw Butte for reports of an unconscious hiker on Monday, the Phoenix Fire Department told 12News. Firefighters made their way to the patient and determined the hiker to be deceased.

The scene was turned over to the Phoenix Police Department for an investigation.

Phoenix Fire said they will assist in body recovery once the investigation is complete.

No other information was given.
