TEMPE, Ariz. — A vigil honoring conservative political activist Charlie Kirk is scheduled to take place Monday night at Desert Financial Arena on the ASU campus in Tempe.

Organized by the ASU student chapter of Turning Point USA , the candlelight vigil is being held a few days after Kirk, 31, was assassinated on a college campus in Utah. ASU officials said there's no cost for students or any student organizations to attend.

Turning Point USA at ASU recommends submitting an RSVP ahead of the event.

Visitors to the Tempe campus should expect heavier traffic around the arena this afternoon and should plan for extra travel time, ASU officials said.

For safety reasons, no props, signs or flags are permitted in the arena, according to ASU officials. The arena also has a clear bag policy.
