LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Proposed budget cuts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are looking to free up nearly $28 million, coming at the cost of six departments such as the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences program.

The department features programs at all levels in areas of interest such as geology, climatology, water resource and the only undergraduate meteorology program in the state.

Professors from the department expressed their concern over the potential loss of that all, which they say would force in-state students already interested in the topics to go to school elsewhere, taking their knowledge and talent with them.
