There’s a special buzz when a teenage talent takes the tennis stage. Serena Williams once did it, Coco Gauff followed, and now 17-year-old Iva Jovic is carrying the torch. Fresh off her first WTA triumph at the Guadalajara Open, the rising American star not only marked a major milestone but also caught the attention of Serena’s childhood coach, Rick Macci, who hailed her as the real deal.
On Monday, Jovic became the youngest player to win a WTA title this season by beating Emiliana Arango 6-4, 6-1. She grabbed the crown at 17 years and 283 days, edging past Mirra Andreeva, who was 17 years and 299 days, as the youngest champion of 2025. And there’s more history. Jovic is now the youngest American to clinch a tour-level title since Coco Gauff lifted a trophy in Parma back in 2021!
