MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Following last week's fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk in Utah, hundreds of people of all ages came out to the Life Sciences Quad at West Virginia University Monday evening for a vigil to remember him.
Students, faith leaders and local politicians all took turns speaking about their memories of Kirk and how they were inspired to act through his example. Some could also be seen watching the vigil from the top of the hill beside Woodburn Hall.
Officers from the Morgantown and WVU Police Departments were on hand at the event, as were troopers from the West Virginia State Police.
Organizers told 12 News that they were glad to see how many people were there to show their support.
"I thought we were going to have a good turnout, but this was just phenomenal. It excee
