A Cincinnati mother is grieving the loss of her second son to gun violence. Both were killed at the age of 22, while sitting in a car with their families nearby.

Lisa Grimes says her son, Brandon, was shot and killed last Tuesday on Lakenoll Drive near Hamilton Avenue. Lisa says he had gone there to meet someone about selling a gun when he was shot inside his car. His girlfriend and their 1-year-old son were with him at the time but were not hurt. Advertisement

“He was a giant teddy bear. Hugged and kissed. He loved to cook,” Grimes said. “Some days, I don’t want to move, but I know he would want me to.”

This is not the first tragedy for the Grimes family. In December 2019, Lisa’s oldest son, Demetrius Grimes Junior, was also shot and killed at age 22. He too was
