A man was shot and killed in a Greater Grand Crossing home Monday afternoon, police said.
The unidentified man was in a residence in the 6800 block of South Anthony Avenue about 3:20 p.m. when someone fired a shot, striking the man in the body, Chicago police said. The details about the incident are unclear.
The man tried to walk to a hospital and was picked up in the 6300 block of South Wentworth Avenue. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center. He was initially in critical condition and later pronounced dead, police said.
No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
