COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — Collin County Animal Services announced it will reopen dog adoptions on Tuesday after briefly shutting down due to a possible disease outbreak.
The shelter suspended adoptions on Sunday while investigating a possible disease outbreak, officials said.
In a social media post on Sunday, Collin County Animal Services announced it would not perform any dog adoptions. A post said they were investigating a possible outbreak of distemper.
Cat adoptions were available throughout the investigation, officials said.
"The safety and wellbeing of the animals in our care is paramount, and we are working diligently to provide a safe environment," the shelter said.
