A father-of-three who joked about being “the fittest guy (he) knows” before receiving a now-terminal cancer diagnosis has planned his own Lego-themed funeral and is living by his motto “go big or go home”. ‌

William White, 61, from Livingston in West Lothian, Scotland, was first diagnosed with colon cancer in February 2020 after noticing he was losing weight and had blood in his stools. ‌

William, a former software developer who lives with his 58-year-old wife Ellie and has three children, Ross, 38, Cheryl, 36, and Hayley, 29, said he underwent surgery and chemotherapy , but he relapsed. ‌

In August 2023, during a routine scan appointment, William received the news his colon cancer was stage 4 and was terminal, with an average prognosis of two and a half years.
