ASHEVILLE – A panel of local experts will host a community forum to discuss the potential effects of President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” on Western North Carolina residents. The event will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at Asheville-Buncombe Techincal Community College's Ferguson Auditorium.
In a Sept. 2 news release, forum organizers said Trump’s sweeping domestic policy agenda will result in massive cuts to Medicaid, threaten closures of rural hospitals and nursing homes, and end free school lunches.
According to the release, the event will feature a panel of medical, legal and faith-based leaders who will address what these cuts and closures could mean for families, communities and institutions across Western North Carolina.
