Another day, another gold medal for Canada.

Ethan Katzberg captured the men’s hammer-throw world title on Tuesday in Tokyo, 24 hours after compatriot Camryn Rogers did the same on the women’s side.

Katzberg and Rogers have each now won the last three major titles in the sports, including the 2023 worlds and 2024 Olympics.

Katzberg, of Nanaimo, B.C., claimed his latest gold medal with a championship-record toss of 84.70 metres.

Germany’s Merlin Hummel took silver at 82.77 metres, while Hungary Bence Halasz rounded out the podium at 82.69 metres.

Katzberg’s medal is Canada’s third of the meet — all of which are gold. Evan Dunfee previously took top spot in the men’s 35-kilometre race walk.
