Gov. Tim Walz has officially confirmed that he's running for reelection next year.
Amid a summer for Minnesotans that saw the assassination of the Hortmans and the Annunciation Church mass shooting, the governor took his time to make a decision, fueling speculation over whether he would go for a third term. But his announcement finally came Tuesday morning.
"I'm heartbroken and angry about the beautiful people we lost to gun violence," Walz said in a campaign video. "But it's in these moments we have to come together."
Vance Boelter, 58, is charged in a politically motivated attack in mid-June on state DFLers and their families in their Twin Cities homes. Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were gunned down in Brooklyn Park. Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were seriously
