A plan to significantly increase the number of homes around three suburban public transport hubs in Brisbane has been revealed.

Taller buildings will be permitted near Indooroopilly and Carindale shopping centres, while more apartments will be allowed in mixed-use developments around Nundah Village.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the plan would help limit urban sprawl and bring people closer to the infrastructure they need.
