EXCLUSIVE: Greenwich Entertainment has partnered with Kanopy to acquire U.S. rights to Eran Riklis ’ Reading Lolita in Tehran gathering exiled Iranian actresses Golshifteh Farahani , Zar Amir Ebrahimi and Mina Kavani in the cast.

The feature is adapted by screenwriter Marjorie David from Iranian writer Azar Nafisi’s bestselling memoir inspired by her experiences as a female literature professor in post-revolutionary Iran of the 1980s and 90s.

Farahani plays Nafisi, the former professor of literature who secretly gathers seven of her most committed female students to read forbidden Western classics, including works by Vladimir Nabokov, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jane Austen, and Henry James.
