Costco has issued a product safety notice for an issue with bottles of Kirkland Signature Prosecco that is so serious, it advises to dispose of them immediately and not return them to the store.

In a notice on its website , the wholesale chain warned members who purchased bottles of Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene that there is “a risk of unopened bottles shattering, even when not handled or in use.”

The bottles were sold between April 25 and Aug. 26 at Costco locations in 12 states: Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The bottles contain item No. 1879870.
