TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Days after an appeals court ruled Florida's ban on open carry of firearms unconstitutional, state Attorney General James Uthmeier issued guidance on how law enforcement agencies should handle that decision.

In a letter sent to prosecutors and law enforcement leaders and shared on X on Monday, Uthmeier said, "As of last week, open carry is the law of the state."
