WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Attendance was down at the Kansas State Fair from prior years. On Tuesday, the fair said it drew 300,784 people during its 2025 run. It was a drop of about 28,000 people from the 2024 event.
The fair opened on Friday, Sept. 5, under misty and cool conditions. The weekend that followed was nice, but then on Monday, Sept. 8, heavy rain caused parking lots to become flooded and muddy. Fair organizers implemented a shuttle system from Hutchinson Community College, the Hutchinson Uptown Mall, and Bold 3PL to ensure people could continue attending.
The fair is working to create a plan for the future if it happens again.
