Train passengers in Cambridgeshire are facing delays this afternoon (Tuesday, September 16) after some of the lines have become blocked. National Rail said there has been a points failure between Kennett and Newmarket , which means trains running between Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge may be delayed by up to 25 minutes.
Some trains may also be revised. The Greater Anglia routes affected are between Ipswich and Cambridge. Disruption is expected until 4pm.
Network Rail said the incident was reported at just after 1.30pm. A spokesperson said: "Network Rail staff are expected on site at 2pm and will have the problem resolved as soon as possible
"Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.
