The late cinema icon Robert Redford returned to the screen one last time earlier this year in a shock TV show cameo that delighted fans.
The Academy Award winner died aged 89 early on Tuesday at his home in Utah ‘surrounded by those he loved’.
One of the most famous Hollywood stars of all time, the legend originally made a name for himself in the 1960s, appearing in films including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
His career continued to go from strength to strength as the years passed, with the actor receiving several Oscar nominations and winning for best director in 1980 for his movie Ordinary People, in addition to the honorary Academy Award he was given in 2002.
However, his last on-screen appearance would have an interesting story behind it…
