PERU – On January 7, 2025, troopers from the Indiana State Police Peru Post responded to a residence on State Road 19 in Miami County after reports of a disturbance. During the incident, officers encountered an armed subject, and one officer discharged their firearm. The subject survived and was later taken into custody.

Last week, Marco Anguiano was sentenced to 29 years at the Indiana Department of Correction after being found guilty by a jury of the following charges:

Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon – Level 4 Felony

Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon – Level 5 Felony

Pointing a Firearm at Another – Level 6 Felony

Resisting Law Enforcement – Level 6 Felony
