LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Dozens of community members gathered Monday evening, September 15, at a vigil honoring the memory of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed last week during an event in Utah.
The vigil took place in the parking lot of Iglesia Cristiana Misericordia and was organized by the Webb County Republican Party in partnership with the Texas A&M International University chapter of Turning Point USA, the Webb County Young Republicans, and the College Republicans.
Attendees lit candles, prayed, and reflected on Kirk’s influence in conservative politics. Local Republican leaders said the vigil was meant to bring people together to grieve and to honor his legacy.
