SPRINGTOWN, Texas — A Springtown ISD educator accused of misconduct is no longer employed by the district and police are investigating an alleged crime committed against a minor, officials said.

In a statement, Springtown ISD confirmed it received reports of misconduct involving an educator and immediately placed them on administrative leave while officials investigated the report.

The educator is no longer employed by the district, officials said.

"The District takes all reports of misconduct seriously and is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all students," the statement reads.

The city of Springtown also confirmed it is investigating the incident.
