CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) — Since the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk last Wednesday, universities have been firing and suspending employees for comments on social media about his death.
Now, South Carolina lawmakers are calling on Coastal Carolina University to take action after a couple of their employees have allegedly shared negative posts regarding Kirk’s death.
South Carolina Rep. Adam Morgan re-posted on X a post allegedly from a CCU public safety employee saying “with how much she loves throwing slurs around on the congress floor she might not be too far behind” with a fingers-crossed emoji.
Representative Nancy Mace re-shared that post, saying, “an alleged public safety employee at a South Carolina college suggests I will be assassinated next” and tagged CCU.
