HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - A former Evansville banker will serve 2 1/2 years in federal prison after being sentenced on bank theft and access device fraud charges.

According to court documents, Dekoda Clark, 32, of Tell City, plead guilty after it was reported he stole $158,208.53 from customer's bank accounts. He was ordered to pay back every penny of that amount in restitution.

Documents state between January 2023 and March 2024, Clark was employed as a Relationship Banker and used his position to steal from the accounts by making unauthorized cash withdrawals and issuing fraudulent debit cards.

Authorities say Clark created debit cards linked to the checking accounts of five individuals and two businesses without their knowledge or consent. He would use the cards to make 17 purchases at
