Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg admitted on Sunday that former President Joe Biden should not have run for reelection.

Buttigieg’s comments come days after former Vice President Kamala Harris released an excerpt from her forthcoming book that criticized Biden’s decision to run for reelection before he ultimately dropped out. After Biden withdrew from the race, he endorsed Harris to replace him on the top of the ticket.

Buttigieg told NBC’s Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press” that Biden should have made the decision not to run sooner.
