Murder squad detectives investigating the death of a boy in Moss Side do not believe the incident is gang-related, the Manchester Evening News has learned. The 15-year-old suffered fatal stab wounds.

One line of inquiry is that his death is linked to a brawl involving a large number of schoolchildren. A video of that clash has been circulating on social media.

Police were called to Moss Lane East in Moss Side just after 4.30pm yesterday (Monday, September 15) before the victim was found with stab wounds. Tragically, he could not be saved.

Another 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder, he remains in custody and no further arrests have been made.
