The Oklahoma Supreme Court, the state's highest civil court , has ordered the State Department of Education to stop implementing controversial new social studies academic standards that require students to learn about Christianity and debunked claims about election fraud and COVID-19.

The court's order came in the lawsuit known as Randall v. Walters , one of two lawsuits over the standards now pending before the court. The standards have been pushed by Republican state schools Superintendent Ryan Walters.
