Syracuse.com’s high school field hockey rankings (Week 2): New No. 1 faces immediate tests

Syracuse, N.Y. — Rome Free Academy has reached the top of Section III field hockey, but that only sets the Black Knights to feel even more heat.

RFA (5-0) inched up from No. 2 after the previous No. 1 Vernon Verona Sherrill fell to New Hartford on Monday. The sets up a showdown Friday, when new runner-up New Hartford (5-1) squares off against the Black Knights.
