Rangers' decision-makers are already speaking to alternatives to Russell Martin – despite the board throwing their faith behind the under-fire boss. ‌

That was the news that dropped on tonight's Hotline Live with Record Sport's Keith Jackson and Scott McDermott. ‌

The Ibrox board are under pressure to act as Martin, their first appointment for the top job, oversees one of the worst starts to a season in the club's history. ‌

They are out of the Champions League and now winless in five Premiership games following their defeat to Hearts – which has left them already nine points off top spot.

Rangers have made it clear they won't be dispensing with Martin 's services just yet but, privately, they are already planning for life beyond Martin with phone calls
