MARYLAND HEIGHTS — A lawsuit alleges a market research firm owes over $786,000 after failing to pay rent and repair costs.

An entity tied to Scott Properties alleges that Kynetec USA breached its lease by not reimbursing roughly $400,000 after repairs were made following a 2022 “water casualty” at the Park 270 building off Craigshire Drive just south of Interstate 270 and Page Boulevard, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in St. Louis County Circuit Court.

Details of the “water casualty” were not disclosed in the lawsuit, but the city of Maryland Heights experienced flash flooding in the summer of 2022 that temporarily closed several businesses.

As a result, the lawsuit claims, Kynetec was charged interest for not paying for repairs.
