San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office Mountain House deputies are helping fire personnel with a possible gas leak near the Delta College Campus after several callers reported smelling gas in the area.

The sheriff's office said that Costa Elementary School and Delta College were evacuated as a precaution.

At this time, SJCSO said fire crews are on scene and PG&E representatives are on their way to investigate.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area until further notice.
