WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Four months after he was transferred to a state mental hospital, alleged McGregor mass shooting defendant Nicolas Jaimes-Hernandez has been determined competent to stand trial.
Judge Thomas West of Waco’s 19th State District Court said he was notified Tuesday morning that doctors at the San Antonio State Hospital, where Jaimes-Hernandez was transferred in May to undergo psychiatric treatment in an effort to regain his competency, have found him competent to stand trial.
Details of Jaimes-Hernandez’s hospital stay were not available Tuesday because West sealed the documents, preventing public disclosure.
