WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Houston man previously cleared in the 2023 traffic death of a pregnant teen in Valley Mills is back in the McLennan County Jail Tuesday after he was named in a sealed indictment last month.

Maikel Alpizar Espinosa, 46, was arrested Monday in Fort Bend County after he was charged with criminal negligent homicide, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Espinosa is being held without bond in the Sept. 22, 2023, crash in which 19-year-old Emily Rena Turkett, of Valley Mills, was killed.

Turkett was pregnant, and she was airlifted to a Waco hospital, where doctors delivered her daughter before Turkett succumbed to her injuries later that night.

The indictment against Espinosa was sealed because he had not been arrested on the new charge. A Mc
