CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Joe Burrow is on the Injured Reserve (IR) list with surgery looming for the Bengals star.

The Bengals announced Burrow was put on IR for the turf toe injury he suffered in Sunday’s win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On Monday, head coach Zac Taylor confirmed that Burrow will need surgery.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that it is a Grade 3 turf toe injury.

The expectation is that Burrow will be out for a minimum of three months, The Athletic‘s Dianna Russini reported earlier Monday.

With Burrow expected to be sidelined for several months, the Bengals made a number of roster moves.

Quarterback Brett Rypien was signed to the Bengals active roster.
