CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Joe Burrow will likely need surgery, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor confirmed Monday.

The Bengals coach said they are still working through the details surrounding Burrow’s injury.

Until the team knows more, they cannot determine a timeline for when Burrow could be back.

The Bengals’ star quarterback left Sunday’s game with what the team said was a toe injury.

That injury, Taylor confirmed Monday, is turf toe.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that it is a Grade 3 turf toe injury.

The expectation is that Burrow will be out for a minimum of three months, The Athletic‘s Dianna Russini reported earlier Monday.

“I feel terrible for [Joe],” coach Taylor admitted to the media.
