The Toronto Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage couldn’t have asked for a better first night in the majors. The 22-year-old struck out nine batters in five innings against the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, setting a franchise record for strikeouts in a major league debut.

The debut was impressive on its own, but what truly wowed fans was how Trey’s delivery looked exactly like Giants ace Justin Verlander’s pitching style. MLB analyst Rob Friedman, better known as PitchingNinja, shared a video comparing Trey Yesavage to the Giants veteran, who recently hailed Tarik Skubal. The clip showed both pitchers’ nearly identical mechanics, from the leg kick to the arm path and release point.

The video quickly went viral, with fans stunned by just how uncanny the resemblance between the two pitchers looked.
