More storms are beginning to develop this afternoon across much of New Mexico. These could drop heavy rain, causing flash flooding. These showers and storms will continue into the evening hours before dissipating overnight. On Wednesday, drier air will move into western New Mexico, but a cold front will move into the northeastern part of the state. This will leave western New Mexico drier, while increasing the chance for heavy rain in northeast New Mexico.
We’ll continue to see isolated afternoon storms across parts of New Mexico Thursday afternoon, with the highest chance in the mountains. We’ll see another uptick in afternoon storm chances on Friday, including a better chance for thunderstorms in the Albuquerque Metro Friday evening.
