( 25News Now ) - Numerous fire departments have put burn bans in place, as the area experiences dry weather over the next few days .

The Saybrook-Arrowsmith and Mt. Hope-Funks Grove fire protection districts in McLean County have prohibited open burning in their districts.

Saybrook-Arrowsmith said their burn ban is in effect until Sept. 28. Mt. Hope- Funks Grove said their ban is in effect from Sept. 16-22, with the possibility of a seven-day extension if weather conditions do not improve.

The Minier Fire Department/Little Mackinaw Township Fire Protection District said a burn ban begins Sept. 16 through the end of Sept. 22, where conditions will be reevaluated and extended if necessary.
