DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Danville Police Department is investigating an overturned tractor trailer in Danville near the Virginia and North Carolina state border that allowed cattle to escape. Police urge drivers to be careful in the area.

Officers were dispatched to the Route 29 southbound exit going toward Caswell County, N.C. around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 16.

Police say the overturned trailer allowed more than 20 cattle to escape, and are requesting drivers to use caution as well as reduce speeds in the area of West Main St., Route 29 south and the Route 29 and Route 58 bypasses.
