Three people were arrested and charged with trespassing at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Burlington after trying to deliver food to detainees on Friday, police said.

Officers were sent to the District Avenue building at 11 a.m. after a report that protesters were blocking vehicles in the road, according to a police report.

Three individuals were trying to deliver food for ICE detainees they believed were inside, according to the report.

A Homeland Security inspector told them that they couldn’t accept the food and asked them to leave, the report said.

Police said they “attempted to de-escalate the situation” but that the protesters refused to leave."
