Fallout from the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk has reached Wisconsin, where local officials, educators and others have faced firings and social media backlash in recent days for online posts about his death, drawing harassment and death threats.

They include an employee fired from an early childhood education nonprofit in Milwaukee, a Cudahy teacher placed on administrative leave , a Wausau community leader let go after a Facebook post, and a Walworth County school district that has been inundated with hundreds of angry messages after false reports that an associate principal celebrated Kirk's death .

Nationally, more than 30 people have been disciplined or fired over social media posts about Kirk, according to NPR.
