GEORGETOWN, Ohio (WXIX) - The search for one of the two escaped Brown County jail inmates continues in Northern Kentucky after one of them was apprehended earlier Tuesday.

Maysville police are advising parents in the Dover, Kentucky area to pick their children up from the bus stop and escort them home as authorities continue their hunt for the remaining escaped inmate, 48-year-old Jerry Lee Cooper.

Roy Gene Butler and Cooper damaged a security window at the jail and fled through the impound lot at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Monday, Sheriff Christopher Hodges said in a news release early Tuesday.

Cooper remains at large and is believed to be in the area near Dover, Kentucky.
