GARNETT, Kan. (KSNW) - A man was airlifted to a hospital in Kansas City after an agricultural accident in eastern Kansas.
The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says emergency personnel were called to a farm west of Garnett around 11:30 Tuesday morning on the report of someone trapped in a grain cart. The department says that the sheriff, undersheriff, a sheriff’s sergeant, and the county fire coordinator were first to arrive on scene and climbed into the cart to begin emergency medical treatment by applying a tourniquet to control severe bleeding of the victim.
EMS soon arrived, along with Garnett rescue personnel. The sheriff's office says they quickly developed a plan to extract the patient safely from the cart. EMS then took the patient to Anderson County Hospital helipad to await the
