Gov. Jeff Landry reiterated his support for bringing National Guard troops to New Orleans to fight crime while attending an economic development news conference Tuesday.
Landry's comments came after the launch of "Source Louisiana," a new website that showcases all of the projects and economic boosters being constructed throughout the state. Advertisement
Landry's support of the troops in place came after news of the Pentagon drafting plans to send 1,000 National Guard troops to Louisiana, according to a report by The Washington Post.
According to the report, the Pentagon's plan for the troops would focus on areas like New Orleans and Baton Rouge through September 2026.
