SAULT STE. MARIE — A large fiber cut has resulted in outages for some Chippewa County residents on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Chippewa County Central Dispatch reported the incident on its Facebook page . Both cell phones and residence phones have been affected in the northwest part of the county, which could cause issues with calling 911 if needed.

The fire hall, located at 7007 North M-23 in Paradise, is being staffed by the Whitefish Township Fire Department while the outage is active. Anybody who is experiencing an outage and needs to contact emergency services should travel to the fire hall to report the emergency.

Emergency services can still be contacted through central dispatch by radios at the fire hall.
