SHAFTSBURY – The town has a survey on its website gauging interest in holding a holiday lighted tractor parade.

Specifically, it asks: “Do you have a Tractor that you would like to decorate and drive for a Holiday Tractor Parade in Shaftsbury?” A second option is “NO - But I want to help others decorate theirs.”

This is a follow up to an earlier survey on the topic. At Monday’s Select Board meeting, resident Art Whitman said another resident asked him about the idea about a month ago. The parade would be held around Christmastime.

The earlier survey on the website asked if people were interested in such an event and would be willing to help. In all, “27 people responded. 81 percent would love to see it. 26 percent would help,” Whitman said.
