CHESTERTON, Ind. — An Indiana man is facing charges in connection with an online threat that led to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis going into lockdown earlier this month.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana said 23-year-old Jackson Fleming of Chesterton, Ind. Was arrested on Friday for one count of transmitting a threat in interstate communication.
Prosecutors did not elaborate on what led to Fleming’s arrest, nor did they specify how the threat was made.
The incident occurred last Thursday. One person was shot during the lockdown.
Shortly after the shooting, the Academy indicated that the victim was transported from the scene in stable condition.
The lockdown was lifted shortly after midnight.
